I think I like studies like this. One on hand it’s really dry, reducing our behavior in places like Tumblr and Vimeo to formulas and Gini coefficients and scatter plots. But that dryness makes me wonder about a couple things that have more to do with love. It makes me wonder about the communities that I want to create or coordinate or explicitly cultivate… and how to make the love and the metrics dance. It also reminds me that it’s good to have places, real or imagined, where none of this matters… places that are just home.
