FREE! Egyptian Mummy Artwork step-by-step

hello everyone welcome to our venture my name is Cassie this out work we’re going to do is an Egyptian mummy so the first thing you always do is your border okay so you only really need one or two crayons for this I’ve chosen a dark blue but black is usually best okay so what I’m going to do is I’m going to start with my mommy’s eyes so I’m just going to do two hills and then once I’ve done those two hills I’m going to repeat the shape but upside down so two dips like that and then on the inside of the eye I’m going to do two shapes one is like a cut for cat and one is I can back to front cover cat so it basically looks like a circle but at the top and the bottom of that circle are hiding and then I’m going to do a circle at the top and that’s going to be my reflection and then I’m going to do a circle behind it but I’m only going to color in up until that reflection there then I’m going to do some eyebrows except before I do the eyebrows I’m going to add mummies often warm makeup so I’m just going to add an extra line out there and then I’m going to make the top line above there I thicker and that’s going to make it look like my mummy is wearing more makeup then I’m going to add my eyebrows which is just a hill again but I repeat that shape so one hill and then two hills I’m here and then two hills and then on the inside of these eyebrows I’m going to do two lines that come down for the beginning of my nose and then what I’m going to do is a little bump on either side and then one big bump to join it up little bump little bump and big bump okay so from doubt from this nose we’re going to go down in two lines and those two lines represent just have a few beneath your nose above your lips there’s actually a lump between your nose and your lips so those two lines down and then a little what looks like a little smile shape there and then from the top here I’m going to go up and down up and down on both sides then I’m going to join this together and then I’m going to add an extra deep underneath big deep down here and they are going to be my lips from there I’m going to do my cheek my chin and my cheek so remember you start next to the eyes cheek chin cheek make sure you go quite close to the bottom of your lips and quite close to the sides of your head then what I’m going to do is I’m going to I might actually just bring these lines up a little bit just above the eyebrows and so then I’m going to draw a line across the top above the Mummy’s eyebrows and join that together and just notice that that’s in a little bit of an arc or a bit of a hill then from there I’m going to draw two lines which go up and out a bit from here so up and out up and out and then I’m going to join that together again and notice again that’s also in a bit of an arc or a bit of a hill now in here what I’m going to do is I’m going to add some rectangles and these rectangles look like they kind of look like piano keys that sort of long skinny rectangle how many my over there one two three four maybe I’ll do five see how many you can fit in yours and then what I’m going to do from the top is come out and down and also a bit across as well so down and across down and now this side my mummy is a little bit to the left of my page so when I come out here that bits going to continue out so I need to imagine that it comes out here so it’s not quite centered but that’s okay before I finish doing those bits there I’m going to add a couple of lines down here so one two and at the bottom of that I’m going to add a circle or an oval and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to add a pattern so I’m going to do some stripes going diagonally like that and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to imagine that I’m doing some weaving sort of so in this first section I’ve got lines going that way I’m going to skip it doing in here but I’m going to do it in the next section and then so I skip this one and then I do it in this section there we go okay so now that I finished doing that I’m going to finish doing these lines so they come down and then they should come in about half way where this is so I’ll come in like that and then go down and I’m going to go under here and back up and out and I need to imagine if you’ve got enough room on your page you can actually join that up to where it should be okay so now I’m going to do two more lines that come down one three and two more lines that come down here as well one two right now under this section here what I’m going to do is start here and finish here and I’m just going to follow the line that I’ve already done and I’ll repeat that again okay so in the section I’ve just finished doing I’m just going to add some stripes that go all the way around in this section all the way across and then lastly what I’m going to do is I’m going to add stripes in these big sections here and all of these stripes are going to go across or horizontal you I’m ready for painting and what I’m going to do is I’m going to use my yellow and I’m also going to wet my Brown and get a very little bit of brown and I’m going to mix it with my yellow with lots of yellow and hopefully that will make it look like gold so what I’m going to do is I’m going to paint the whole face of the mummy in this gold color even over the lips because don’t forget that this isn’t a real person it’s the casing of where the mummy lives so what I am going to do is I’m going to leave the eyes white and I’m only going to paint every remember how we did the diagonal lines across that’s the bit I’m going to paint with my gold color and then in a minute I’m going to create another color and I’ll use that for the other sections so once I finished doing my gold I actually have a few more bits to do but I’m going to color create a new color for these sections along here I’m going to mix blue and a very small amount of black and that will give me a lovely dark blue once I’ve got that blue I’m just going to paint every second stripe with this lovely dark blue color that I have once you finish painting your gold I’m going to choose a color for my background now because I’ve used blue dark blue and yellow or kind of like a gold the best thing to do is to not choose either of those colors because we want to create a nice contrast if you don’t know what contrast means then go to the tips now I’m going to choose red all finished there is my ancient Egyptian mummy artwork
