The original artist goes by the name of Talart and the link to the original fanart is in the description, so please go and check it out and support an amazing artist!Once again, I apologize for crediting the wrong individual; I completely understand the annoyance and I fully admit my mistakes here. Hopefully it won't happen again! In any case, I'm glad a lot of people enjoyed this video and it's awesome to see so many of you going into deep discussion about the topic. It's great to see a community being active yet understanding about a very lopsided topic like this. Thanks again everyone, see you in the next video <3 Reply SleepyGhostIsMe August 28, 2019 Joeys hair defies physics. I'd imagine its the same as playing music, where even if you play genre X you can learn and get better by studying genre Y. There's a lot of rock and metal musicians who have literally ripped off of classical music, and made it sound like unique awesome rock, I'm sure this concept applies to art as well, so I'd say not only have anime artists branch out and learn other styles, why not also have other artists at least take at least a small amount of time to study anime art. Reply Alexander von Parseval August 30, 2019 I don't even know these both animes. Bleach andd…the other one Reply Sunia D August 30, 2019 When I was doing Art for GCSE (UK exams done at age 16, start at age 13/14), we were having a chill day, show casing our favourite techniques. I drew some manga, as I was proud of my personal progress and it was what sparked my interest in Art. My art teacher took one look at my work and said " that's not art, that's a cartoon, do something else". This was so disheartening, and also baffling seeing as the first time I had tried to draw manga was when one of my art teachers colleagues had done a class on it a year earlier! Pretty much summed up that teachers reaction to everything I did (that was the one and only time I drew manga in her class…she just hated me, and therefore everything I did). Ruined my experience of Art. Reply Erick Piccirillo August 31, 2019 So.. My art teacher at school made my class draw an abstract robot, whatever that means… She said we are free to draw any eyes we want. I drew anime eyes. She said to redo my entire drawing, and she didn't give a crap that it took me longer than a month to design. I quit art class :/ Reply Artistic Puppy August 31, 2019 Boi my English Language Arts teachers even started wandering around seeing who’s a weeb UwU Reply flipnotefan fan [Trคƿƿ૯ძ ᔕ૦υl] September 1, 2019 My teacher must be the 1% cause she actually likes my anime art…lmao. And when it cam eto drawing face she had a problem with anathomy. She drew too much big eyes and things like this, so the persons that she was drawing wasnt looking like they really look Reply Creamy Drxgon September 2, 2019 In my school we do art, people can sign up for free to learn to draw. Anyways, I love anime and I do have a good few friends who I talk to about it. They don't really watch it but ya know? 😂Anyways, she came on the bus with a drawing! So I asked her "what's that paper?" She replied with "I learned to draw anime!" So basically, I was happy for her. My school is lit. Reply LshowKnows September 2, 2019 Well my teachers from college never stopped anyone from doing an anime style drawing, loads of art students only know how to draw in that style. What my teachers actually did was make us do more realistic works to learn anatomy, shapes, volumes etc. Why? Cause you can´t have a "style" without knowing the basics. Picasso before doing cubism was drawing in a more realistic style, and he was amazing at it. The problem with must art students now a days is that they use the "it´s my style" excuse to run away from drawing things that they can´t draw. Every one in my class whose style is "anime like" ends up drawing the same, it´s the exact same style, same eyes, hair styles, proportions etc. Sorry but that´s not having a style, it´s just drawing the typical "anime style". Berserk and Vagabond are great examples of artists that know how to draw realism and mix it with a more manga approach Reply Error no#10 September 3, 2019 The art department at my school is the boom, not only have they incurred me to draw anime but have actually given me recommendations like Jo Jo and chobits Reply KoolCats Jess September 3, 2019 I draw and watch anime like 24/7 and everything you say is so right òwó👍 Reply KoolCats Jess September 3, 2019 It’s so unfair my school never lets us draw anime but they do appreciate the drawings Reply Ali Abdullah September 3, 2019 4:00 not looking alike at all ! Reply Mato Kuroi September 14, 2019 I'm shit at drawing realistic things but pretty decent at drawing anime-related stuff, so I strongly disagree with you saying that you have to learn traditional drawing first. I went to an art school and I hated every second of it. If you learn in a certain style and you stick to it you don't need any other "general rules". I like your videos, but this one felt like a video that only appeals to the younger people in your audience, because they're easily influenced. Reply Madison Denny September 14, 2019 As an aspiring artist and weeb, I like to think that deliberately trying to replicate an anime art style is not a very effective way to form your style. You should instead take ideas and aspects from the art and make it your own. That's what I did and , not to toot my own horn (I sound like a boomer), but I love my style now, and you can see small aspects of anime and real life anatomy and tactics in it. Long story short, if you want to take inspiration from anime then you should reference it as well as other art styles and real life of photographs Reply Queen_oreo September 14, 2019 dang it. i wanted to go to art college, but this just proves id fail faster then sonic runs.cuz I MYSELF draw in a anime art style. Reply SsAmu ShenSs September 14, 2019 Haha… When I had art class (in Highschool it was manditory) I never really draw (ever… I loved anime but never tried to draw "Anime" style.) We all had a project in drawing Animal/Nature. My drawing is like chicken scribbles… That teacher told me that I drew my panda too anime, she only accepted "american cartoon or real life art." To be honest that class was 98% Asian. We all were offended. She never once showed us how to "draw" she just critizied our art.. she tells us what to do but never drew anything (not even a circle, she use her old student's works as examples.) Reply Daniel Cherng September 14, 2019 My teachers don’t have an issue with anime if you’re really good, they encourage exploration and trying new styles, shapes and different interesting designs. They have a problem when they see a student isn’t improving and is doing anime style only. Reply murkywater adminssions September 14, 2019 Got a questionis drawing tanks/panzers count….?if it doesn't count as art I will send a heavy tank battalion to that school Reply David Vitale September 14, 2019 I showed my highschool art class teacher my anime drawing, she just said:"cool anime" Reply Inspektical September 14, 2019 I feel like teachers would love it if someone managed to replicate/be inspired by Araki's art style with JoJo's. They're (as of now) anatomically correct with nice proportions, it doesn't even look like anime Reply Namjoon's Tittie Committee September 14, 2019 One of our topics we are doing in art is anime/manga,,,, tbh we weren't allowed but we got new art teacher and she picks topics Reply Fariz pratama September 14, 2019 Well… Araki's Jojo get in Louvre…. Reply Politically correct speech isn't my thing, fk off September 15, 2019 ok so better avoid art schools, Art is something personal, nobody should restrict art, that's why it's art Reply L Challenge September 15, 2019 I’ve never really liked drawing because I was never introduced to anime, my friend showed me anime then I started drawing pictures and now it’s been about a month and I’m thinking of taking art class for the first time but nvm now Reply Gemini Apocalypse September 15, 2019 Snake dont have hands Reply Shrek-the-ogre-lord September 15, 2019 The British museum of modern art recently had and exhibition of manga and it was epic It was open for like a month and was the most popular exhibition ever of recent years in that museum This was in London and I think anime is becoming a less niche medium Also I did draw anime for my gcse art as a separate piece not as my main but my teacher didn’t give a fuck cox he game up on me ages ago lmao 👍😂 Reply someone yt September 15, 2019 Bruh i went to visit an art school and they had a whole department for anime art and also animation Reply Kishi-Chan September 15, 2019 My art teacher is perfectly fine with me drawing anime Reply Viktória Megyesi September 15, 2019 I go to a art school cuz there is a slub i go to(art club)and there my art teacher/leader says anime art is okay and he lets me draw anime yay! but i can actually draw serious , and i can paint!so our art teacher at the club he says it doesn't matter if i draw anime cuz i can draw serius like i can draw an apple too so he supports me in drawing anime so i'm lucky Reply pascalsch14 September 15, 2019 In my opinion "Art" is to technical. I hated art in school not only because iam shit at drawing but because we had to learn about some idiots who splashed paint on paper. And we had to guess what the artists wanted to tell us and after that we had to copy its work. My thoughts where something like wtf why do we have to do this.
